OUR FIRST FIGHT: REFLECTIONS ON THE PSYCHOANALYTIC CONCEPT OF ENACTMENT

Saturday, April 29, 2006
9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
9:00 AM Registration

APSP has sponsored theoretical and clinical presentations by significant contributors to self psychology.  Other relational perspectives are also presented, with comparisons to self psychology.  APSP also sponsors participatory workshops which explore issues of current clinical concern.  Members receive reduced fees for these programs.  Click this button for our current schedule:

Past programs for members only include the series "Original Papers" by members, "Close Readings of Texts" and "Listening to Clinical Process," held in members' homes, which have generated a spirited give and take of ideas in an informal atmosphere.  Members are also invited to be part of the new series, "Case Consultations with Master Clinicians."  There are no fees for members only series.

Participation

Founded in 1987, APSP is distinguished by its commitment to democratic process and collegial interchange.  Members have an active voice in determining organizational policy in open membership and committee meetings.  Its governing structure is a 15-member Coordinating Committee, with yearly elections.

Prospect

Our vision is a network of self psychologists able to take part in the currents and controversies of this most vital and clinically productive school of psychoanalysis.  We are still experimenting with the forms of presentation and participation that will best meet the needs of our members as well as the larger self psychological community.
